Honorable Jennifer Van Vrancken Council-at-Large, Division A

Jennifer Van Vrancken is an attorney and former television journalist. She works hard to bring innovation, efficiency and common sense to government.

Her career with the parish started in 2010 working for the Parish President’s office. She was promoted twice to serve as the Chief Operating Office overseeing 40 departments, 24 hundred employees and a half billion-dollar budget.

First elected in 2015, Jennifer served her district by spearheading innovative projects like replacing an inefficient bus line with LYFT, developing an award-winning app to alert drivers to approaching trains, giving life to environmental recreation at Bucktown Harbor and transforming a failing drainage ditch into a picturesque park.

At-Large, Jennifer is eager to serve all of Jefferson Parish by tackling challenges that cut across communities and working to maximize the potential of every part of our parish.

Jennifer learned her work ethic and customer service mindset at her family business, The Balcony Ballroom, now celebrating its 50th year.

Jennifer is happily married to attorney Stephen Dwyer and is blessed with 5 talented step-children, 6 precious grandkids and two amazing nephews.
