JEFFERSON PARISH GOVERNMENT OFFICES CLOSED
FRIDAY, JUNE 14, 2024 IN OBSERVANCE OF JUNETEENTH
JEFFERSON, LA – All Jefferson Parish Government offices will be closed on Friday, June 14, 2024 in observance of the Juneteenth holiday. Curbside garbage collection will take place as scheduled for residents of Unincorporated Jefferson Parish and the Town of Jean Laffite and Jefferson Parish Transit will be running a normal schedule on Friday.
As a reminder, REALCYCLE and Glass Half Full will provide recycling services on Saturday, June 15 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the east bank at the Joseph S. Yenni Building (1221 Elmwood Park Boulevard, Jefferson, LA 70123 – enter parking lot form Citrus Street side and exit to Elmwood Parkway) and on the west bank at 6440 Lapalco Boulevard, Marrero, LA 70072. All Jefferson Parish Parks & Recreation (JPRD) classes and programs (not including Lafreniere Park and Parc des Familles) will be closed on Friday and will resume classes and programs on Saturday. All parish libraries and the Jefferson Protection & Animal Welfare Services (JPAWS), will also be closed on Friday and will resume normal operations on Saturday.
In addition, the Jefferson Parish East and West Bank American Job Centers will be closed on Friday and will reopen to the public on Monday, June 17. For unemployment services, residents can call 1-866-783-5567.
