OAKDALE PLAYGROUND WALKING TRACK RENOVATIONS
TO TAKE PLACE STARTING MONDAY, MARCH 4, 2024

JEFFERSON, LA – The Jefferson Parish Parks and Recreation Department (JPRD) will begin work on a transformative renovation project at the Oakdale Playground Walking Track, located at 650 Wall Blvd, Gretna, LA 70056, on Monday, March 4, 2024 at 7 a.m.

The scope of the renovation includes replacing deteriorating concrete walkways leading to the track, repairing damaged areas to ensure user safety, and applying a complete asphalt overlay across the entire half-mile track for enhanced durability and usability. Weather permitting, this project is estimated to be completed within approximately two weeks. During the renovation period, patrons are encouraged to explore alternative trails and paths within the vicinity, including: Belle Meade Walking Trail, Harvard Walking Trail, Woodland West Walking Trail, and ML King Playground Track.
