Since 2005, Jefferson Parish has annually integrated non-structural projects into resiliency for repetitive loss properties and in more recent years has placed a priority on properties outside of levee protection. Samples of homes elevated and reconstructed in Jefferson Parish are detailed below. Also there are a few videos to explain the grant application process.

Elevation Projects

An elevation project involved lifting the existing structure’s foundation to above the anticipated flood level.

Reconstruction Projects

A reconstruction mitigation project consists of demolishing the existing, flood-prone structure and rebuilding an elevated structure.
